Unknown to the villagers, Henri is actually the son of the Marquis of Corneville, who was exiled twenty years earlier.Meanwhile, a miserly farmer named Gaspard has illegally occupied the abandoned chateau. The plot unfolds with intrigue, romance, and the eventual return of Henri to reclaim his rightful heritage.
