
Synopsis
The Hastleons’ 2015 production of “Sister Act” at the White Rock Theatre brought the uplifting and hilarious musical comedy to life with a talented cast and vibrant energy. Based on the popular 1992 film, the musical follows Deloris Van Cartier, a spirited lounge singer who witnesses a crime and is placed in protective custody in a convent.
Disguised as a nun, Deloris initially struggles to fit in with the convent’s quiet and disciplined lifestyle. However, she soon transforms the convent choir with her dynamic voice and infectious enthusiasm, bringing new life to the sisters and the local community. Along the way, Deloris helps the nuns find their own voices and confidence while evading the dangerous criminals pursuing her.
Filled with catchy songs, including the show-stopping “Raise Your Voice,” the musical celebrates themes of friendship, courage, and the power of music to change lives. The Hastleons‘ production was praised for its spirited performances, colorful costumes, and the joyful atmosphere that delighted audiences at the White Rock Theatre.
